Lewis County Ends COVID-19 Mass Vaccinations

Mass vaccination clinics will no longer be hosted for Lewis County residents to receive COVID-19 vaccines.

Lewis County Public Health & Social Services (LCPHSS) and Bird’s Eye Medical group entered a memorandum of understanding in January 2021 that the group would facilitate services of COVID-19 mass vaccination, testing and administration in the county.

During a Tuesday morning meeting, the county commissioners approved an amendment of the memorandum to end the contract, effective on June 30.

“We do anticipate some services with Bird’s Eye still occurring for persons who are homebound who are seeking vaccination services,” said Meja Handlen, interim director of LCPHSS.
