Lewis County Health Officer Named to Regional Healthcare Response Board

Lewis County Public Health and Social Services announced last week that Lewis County Health Officer Rachel Wood, M.D., MPH, has been named to the Northwest Healthcare Response Network Board of Directors (NWHRN).

“This is an important year for the board, as we have added new seats in order to better reflect our expanded service area and our sectoral diversity, said NWHRN Executive Director Onora Lien. “In a disaster, we’ll need all parts of the healthcare system to work together with the rest of the community, and a strong board is essential to guiding that work.”

Headquartered in Tukwila, NWHRN is an affiliation of public, private and tribal partners from throughout western Washington working together to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. These partners include hospitals, labs, clinics and other healthcare facilities, medical providers, public health departments, emergency medical systems, other first responders, and emergency management departments.

Dr. Wood joined Lewis County Public Health & Social Services as the county’s Health Officer in 2007.
