Looking to add some grape vines to your backyard garden? Then sign up for the Washington State University Extension Lewis County Master Gardeners’ upcoming class on planting and growing grapes, scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 8.
“This informative and interactive session is designed for gardeners of all skill levels. Participants will learn about selecting the best grape varieties for their gardens, proper planting techniques, and essential care practices to ensure healthy and productive grape vines,” a Lewis County Master Gardeners news release stated. “The class will be led by knowledgeable master gardeners who will share their expertise and provide hands-on guidance.”
It will be held at the Fort Borst Park Borst Demonstration Garden in Centralia.
“Attendees will have the chance to see our trellised grapevines in the demo garden as well as our drip irrigation system, and get practical advice on how to achieve similar results in their own gardens,” the release added.
Interested attendees are asked to pre-register for free three to four days prior to the class in order to ensure enough materials are available.
To register, email Lewis County Master Gardeners Office Manager Julie Pirtle at julie.pirtle@lewiscountywa.gov or call 360-740-1212 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
