In a bid to establish direct lines of communication with its customers, the Lewis County Public Utility District (PUD) is set to host a series of "Meet the Manager" meetings in January.
PUD General Manager David Plotz, who assumed his role almost one year to the day of the first meeting Jan. 3, invites the public to engage in candid conversations from 3 to 6 p.m. on the following Wednesdays.
• January 3: Chehalis office auditorium
• January 10: Morton office auditorium
• January 17: Chehalis office auditorium
• January 24: Morton office auditorium
A finance and banking graduate from Washington State University, Plotz returned to his roots in 2009, leaving an international banking career to be closer to his ailing father. The PUD became his new professional home, initially as power supply manager and now as general manager.
Plotz's deep-rooted connection to the PUD and the community is evident in his goals for the utility. With a focus on maintaining low rates for businesses and families, ensuring top-notch customer service, and fortifying infrastructure, Plotz is determined to steer the PUD towards a customer-centric future, he said.
To facilitate organizational improvements, Plotz proposed an organizational review panel chaired by former PUD manager Dave Muller. The panel, featuring community leaders such as Connie Bode and Doug Miller, will play a pivotal role in assessing and recommending strategies for delivering excellent service and maintaining competitive power rates, Plotz has said.
"I grew up in Chehalis, and I have strong ties to the PUD,” Plotz told The Chronicle when he began his role as general manager. “My dad worked almost his entire life for Lewis County Public Utility District and had a deep loyalty to this organization."
