The Republican Party of Lewis County will hold the group’s caucus, which allows “grassroots influence to determine the future of political direction and movement in the local party,” on Jan. 13.
Residents will elect delegates during the caucus who will help craft the platform at the Feb. 17 Lewis County Republican Convention. Delegates at the county convention are also eligible to provide input in the state platform at the state convention in April.
Residents can find their caucus location at https://voter.votewa.gov/.
The Jan. 13 caucus will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and participants must arrive by 9:55 a.m. when the doors will be locked.
Once in a precinct area, residents can fill out platform issues or resolution forms before attendees will vote on a caucus chair and secretary. From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. is the caucus’ “magic hour” where participants will be “adjourned to their individual precinct caucus headed up by their precinct committee officer to complete table tasks such as electing delegates and alternates” and submit “issues pertinent to the proposed county platform.”
Registration for the caucus begins at 8:30 a.m. and will close at 9:55 a.m., and attendees must bring their voter registration card.
