With plenty of locals to spare at the WIBCA Senior All-State Games this weekend, several had strong performances during the final round of All-Star showcases around the state.

For the boys, who were split up into six different teams representing each classification at Curtis High School in Tacoma, each team featuring local talent won.

In the 2A v. 1A game, W.F. West’s Soren Dalan put up a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double off the bench in the 2A’s 119-88 win Saturday afternoon. He was joined by a couple of Tumwater standouts in Luke Brewer and Andrew Collins, with the former scoring 12 points and hauling in six rebounds and dishing out five assists, and Collins scoring 12 points with six rebounds of his own.

Pullman’s Jaedyn Brown had a game-high 23 points, and Mark Morris’ Kobe Parlin chipped in 20 for the 2As.

In the 2B v. 1B game, Morton-White Pass’ Jake Cournyer was the lone local participant for the 2Bs, scoring 17 points, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out four assists. Davenport’s Tennessee Rainwater led the way for the 2Bs, scoring 32 points and grabbing 10 boards. The 2Bs defeated the 1Bs, 130-91.

Keegan Kolb of Mossyrock played for the 1Bs, and didn’t score, but grabbed two rebounds and dished out three helpers. Willapa Valley’s Riley Pearson and Wil Clements scored nine and eight points, respectively.

For the girls, a pair of locals participated among the 2As in a game against the best from the 1As, with Tumwater’s Kylie Waltermeyer and Morgan Rogerson of W.F. West falling in that game, 78-71.

Waltermeyer scored six points on three makes from the field, and Rogerson scored three points for the 2As.

In the 2B versus 1B girls game, the 2Bs came out on top, 93-60. A trio of locals all scored 10 points in Napavine’s Morgan Hamilton, and Adna’s Karlee VonMoos and Brooklyn Loose.

The 1B team coached by Mossyrock’s Autumn Moorcroft, featured one local: Payton Torrey of Mossyrock.

Torrey didn’t score, but hauled in a pair of boards after sitting out last week’s all-star contests with an ankle injury.
