After opening its season with a defeat to Raymond, Onalaska bounced back to win its first game of the season against South Bend, 59-15.
The Loggers (1-1) rolled out to a 30-7 lead after one period, and didn’t look back in a dominant effort.
Callie Lawrence led the way for Ony with 20 points and five rebounds. Brooklyn Sandridge was the only other double-digit scorer with 12, in a well-balanced scoring game.
“We came out shooting really well and had a lot of intensity to start,” coach Alana Olson said. “To bounce back the next game after the Raymond loss, it felt really good.”
The Loggers shot 43% as a team, and pulled down 36 rebounds with just 10 turnovers. Dakotah Hamilton was the leading rebounder with seven boards. Sister Morgan Hamilton was a menace defensively, coming away with four steals.
Onalaska will open league play in its next game on Wednesday against Toutle Lake at home.
