Loggers Fall in Non-Leaguer to Grizzlies

Paced by a young group, the Onalaska girls basketball team kept up with Hoquiam for a half but couldn’t pull out a non-league win on the road Saturday night, 35-27.

The Loggers were led by Randi Haight’s nine points, and Kiayah Sandridge scored six, with both attacking the rim well as freshmen.

“The girls played really hard tonight,” Loggers coach Alana Olson said. “We had some young players step up and attack the basket. Randi Haight and Kiayah Sandridge did a nice job being aggressive. Kiley Talley worked really hard on the boards. The whole team showed a lot of grit tonight.”

Talley recorded a game-high 14 rebounds, and senior Brooklyn Sandridge had seven rebounds and four assists from the guard spot.

The Loggers take on Mossyrock in another non-league game on Monday at 6 p.m. on the road.
