Pirates fall on road to Chinooks

The Adna football team dropped its regular season finale on Thursday, losing 57-34 at Kalama.

Lane Johnson and Luke Mohney were the key playmakers on offense, as Johnson ran for 109 yards and threw for 47, while Mohney racked up 64 yards on the ground and 49 receiving.

Mohney also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Layden York also got some time at quarterback on Thursday, going 7 for 10 for 78 yards.

Gavin Muller hauled in three passes for 35 yards, and while Grayson Humphrey only came down with one catch, it went for 31 yards.

Defensively, Jack Smith came away with an interception and led the team with 7.5 tackles, and Johnson had seven tackles.

The Pirates finish the season 2-6 overall and 0-3 in C2B South play, and they will have to play-in the crossover play-in on Tuesday. They’ll host Wahkiakum, the West division winner, and the winner will play at Napavine in the crossover next Saturday, Nov. 4.
