Loggers Fall to Spartans on Senior Night

The Onalaska girls basketball team honored its lone senior, Brooklyn Sandridge, Saturday night in a home non-league contest in Forks, and though got 15 points from Sandridge, fell 60-35.

Sandridge led the charge in the second half when the Loggers finally picked up some steam offensively, but it wasn’t enough in the home loss.

“Brooklyn is our lone senior and was our only returning player with varsity experience so there was a lot of pressure on her all year long,” Ony coach Alana Olson said. “I’m really proud of her grit and determination. She has been an excellent leader for our young team. She works hard every time she steps on the court.”

The senior also added seven assists, three blocks, and seven steals to her statline.

Randi Haight added another seven points and Kiley Talley had three points and eight rebounds for the home team, and the Spartans were led by Keira Johnson’s game-high 25 points on the night.

“I was really proud of the girls' effort tonight,” Olson said. “They worked hard the whole game and came out with more intensity than the last couple games.”

The Loggers return to Central 2B League play against Morton-White Pass in Morton on Monday.
