Onalaska softball erupted for 16 runs on 16 hits and the Loggers made quick work of visiting Napavine for a 16-1 victory in three innings during Central 2B League play on Thursday.

The Loggers’ first at-bat was indicative of what was to come as leadoff hitter Hannah James blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the first to five Ony the lead for good. James finished 3 for 3 with two RBIs.

Dylan Zigler added four RBIs while going 3 for 3, while Alex Cleveland-Barrera finished 2 for 2.

“They’re starting to see the ball but they’ve got a long way to go,” Onalaska coach Rich Teitzel said. “But real proud of the team. The energy’s there and they just want to play ball.”

Zigler was also solid on the mound, striking out five and allowing two hits and one walk in three innings.

“Real proud of Dylan,” Teitzel said. “She hit her marks and her pitches are coming together.”

Napavine’s two hits were a pair of singles from Hallie Denault and Clara Fay.

Cailyn Milton threw the first two innings for the Tigers, giving up eight runs on eight hits with two strikeouts. Patricia Helsing threw the last third of an innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits as well.

Napavine (4-2) continues league play when it travels to Stevenson for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Onalaska (3-2, 2-0 C2BL) heads to Mossyrock for a non-league matchup at 3 p.m. on Friday.
