Loggers Snap Losing Streak in Win over South Bend

Leading by as many as 19 in the third quarter, Onalaska held off a scrappy South Bend squad, 56-45, to snap a 10-game losing streak Thursday night.

South Bend cut it to seven at one point, but after a few 3-pointers and stout defense, the Loggers did enough to pick up the win.

“We played pretty well,” Loggers coach Wayne Nelson said. “I thought our defense was a little better and offensively we were better.”

Nelson credited Nick Rushton for scoring six points in the fourth quarter to keep South Bend at bay and Case McGraw for hitting two 3-pointers in the first half to help the Loggers build a lead.

The Loggers will take on Winlock on Friday searching for their first league win.
