The Onalaska girls basketball team won a tight game over Mossyrock on Tuesday, overcoming a late deficit to win 34-33.

The Loggers (2-1) came out of the gate strong, taking a 12-5 lead after the first quarter, but were limited to just three points in the second and led 15-10 at the half.

Both offenses played better in the third, and the two teams entered the final frame tied at 25.

The Vikings (0-3) held a three-point lead late in the quarter, but the Loggers came back to earn the close win.

“I was very proud of how hard we played the entire game,” Mossyrock coach Autumn Moorcroft said. “We played together as a team and kept pushing.”

Jaycee Kinsman led the Loggers with nine points, while Kiley Talley added six. Emalie Jacoby scored five, and all five came in the fourth quarter.

Delaney Marshall led the Vikings with eight points and eight rebounds, while Abbie Lovan tallied eight steals defensively. Chesney Schultz added six points and Kendall Cournyer scored five.

The Vikings are back in action at home on Thursday when they host Three Rivers Christian, while the Loggers will host Toledo on Friday.
