A 33-year-old man was arrested Friday afternoon after pointing a gun at passing traffic and a Lacey police officer on the Chehalis Western Trail, according to the Thurston County Sheriff's Office and court records.
Just before 1 p.m. deputies with the Thurston County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the trail in the area of the 3700 block of South Bay Road.
Lacey police also responded to assist and ultimately made the arrest.
After they responded, the man pointed his firearm at a Lacey officer before walking away down the trail, said Sheriff Derek Sanders in a social media post.
A team of officers then approached the man and took him into custody.
"(Lacey) Officer Bell would remove a large can of bear spray from a pack that was around (the suspect's) waist," the court records read.
The officer also removed a black semi-automatic handgun from the man's waist that turned out to be a "C02-powered replica handgun," according to court records.
The suspect was booked on suspicion of three counts of felony harassment/threats to kill, court records show.
