A 33-year-old Hoquiam man died of a medical emergency while he was traveling as the passenger of a vehicle on eastbound state Route 8 near Summit Lake on Sunday.
The driver of the vehicle pulled over to the right shoulder of the highway near milepost 8, east of McLeary and west of Summit Lake, to call 911 just after 6:40 p.m. on May 21, according to a report from Washington State Patrol.
The victim, who has not been identified by Washington State Patrol, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle’s driver and a second passenger were not injured.
