Marie Joan "Jo" Hanshaw, 87, went to our Lord Dec. 9, 2019. She resided in Chehalis, Wash., at the Woodland Village Memory Care Apartments. Jo had suffered with Alzheimer's disease for too many years. She was born in Blue Ash, Ohio, in January of 1932, to John and Eva Broadus and lived an exceptional Christian life.

Jo managed the medical records department at Providence Centralia Hospital for 28 years before she retired in 1996. Her and her husband, Michael then left Washington to retire in Yuma, Ariz., always returning in the summer months to spend time with their family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; and four siblings, Bettye, Carolyn, Morton and Glen.

Jo is survived by her sons, Mark Hanshaw (Sherri) and Mike Hanshaw (Sue); grandchildren, Joshua (Leanna), Mikey (Marie), Kyle and Cody; and great-grandchildren, Railey, Maci, Konnor, Luke, Logan, Zachary and Kinsley.

Her family will miss her, but we all know she's kicking up her heels square dancing with her husband on Heaven's golden streets.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Jan. 11, 2020, at The Church of Christ, 300 St. Helens St., Toledo, Wash. In lieu of flowers or cards, please consider a contribution to a worthy charity.
