Marysville officers search for suspects after exchange of gunfire

Marysville officers searched for three armed suspects in a residential area overnight Sunday.

Officers responded to multiple 911 calls shortly after midnight reporting sounds of gunfire in the 8400 block of 41st Drive Northeast, according to a news release. Officers learned three armed suspects confronted a homeowner who had just gotten home, and who also was armed. The parties shot at each other, police say.

After the shooting, the suspects tried to steal vehicles and break into homes, police said. A pickup truck was stolen but later recovered blocks away, police said.

Police said gunfire struck homes and vehicles. Officers reportedly recovered three guns and a stolen red Chevrolet Camaro that the suspects arrived in, according to a news release.

Police searched the area with dogs and drones, and asked residents to stay in their homes, lock their doors and report any suspicious activity to 911. Officers found and arrested one suspect, who had a gunshot wound, while two more remained at large, police said on Sunday.

No other injuries have been reported.

Authorities didn't know Sunday night whether this incident was targeted or random. The Marysville Police Department said they are reviewing "a large amount of video footage."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Department's nonemergency number at 425-407-3999.

"We understand there are a lot of questions and concerns," police posted on social media. "Only information that will not hinder the investigation will be provided."
