Mat Rats Rebooted take fifth at Elma Folkstyle Tournament

Mat Rats Rebooted had an impressive performance at the Elma Folkstyle Tournament this past weekend, scoring 177 team points to finish fifth out of 54 teams.

The team was led by Triton Wait (10U 93), who scored a team high 24 points, Charlie Wheeler (Girls 6-8 115-121), who scored 23, and Kane Ragsac (8U 45), who added 20.5.

Wheeler brought home two gold medals, winning both Girls 6-8 115-121 and Girls 9-12 115, and Wait won at 10U 93.

Connor Rapp (14U 155) and Marshall Turnquist (14U 175) also took home gold medals, giving the team five total.



Eight wrestlers — Kane Ragsac (8U 45), Addie Ojard (Girls 3-5 70), Myryn Phillips (10U 67), Western McFadden (10U 77), Carter Hedden (12U 82), Kataleana Warner (Girls 6-8 100), and Cody Galpin (16U 175 & Junior 165) — won silver medals.

Camryn Reeson (Girls 3-5 86) was the team’s lone bronze medalist.

The Mat Rats will be back in action at the Concede Nothing Folkstyle Challenge Tournament on Sunday at Centralia High School.
