Michael Robert (Doc) Davis, 67, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 27, 2021, in Winlock, Wash. He was born April 1, 1954, in Chehalis, Wash. He was the third of four children born to Rudolph (Doc) and Jeanette Davis. He is survived by his brother, Rick; sisters, Patti andBrigette; and his three children, Brittney of Vancouver, Wash., Kailey of San Ramon, Calif., and Jordan of Washington D.C. Mike started second grade in Winlock and graduated from Mt. St. Helens High School in 1972. While in high school, Mike excelled in basketball, track, and football. Following high school, he continued his love of sports through the Lewis County Slow Pitch League, where he played for 31 years. In 1981, he married Susan Gambetta. While living in Winlock, he was a member of the Winlock Community Club where he was involved in the building of Winolequa Park. Until 2019, he participated in the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the park, side by side, with his many long time friends. He loved and served the community he spent 61 years in. Mike also took great pride in the homes Davis Construction built in the area. He mentored many a young man in the construction trade, his unassuming knowledge contributed to the future of many. In his heart and mind he was still on the roof, hammering and teaching unskilled homeowners his skills until the day he passed. He enjoyed his “guy” trips to the desert each year. Mike also took great pride and many hours polishing and preserving his beloved 1967 Chevelle SS that he has owned since 1972. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the nurses, caregivers, friends, loved ones and Hospice staff that offered comfort and love throughout his illness. You are all welcome and invited to a celebration of Docs life, Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 622 Cemetery Rd., beginning at 1 p.m., and continuing throughout the day.
