Minerich Records Second Hat Trick in Three Games

In its third straight win, this time over league opponent Eatonville, Tenino boys soccer got yet another hat trick from freshman forward Tyler Minerich, his second in three games.

But it didn’t start the way the Beavers hoped, falling behind in a 1-0 hole at the half after a Cruiser score in the 17th minute.

“The intensity wasn’t quite there, we couldn’t finish in the first half,” Beavers coach Kevin Schultz said. “Eatonville was playing harder than us in the first half.”

But after pausing and reassessing at halftime, Minerich scored his first goal in the first 20 seconds of the second half, and scored again in the 45th to help the Beavers take the lead.

“They responded with a lot better effort in the second half,” Schultz said. “Cash Gallaher, and Toby Suess really stepped up in the backline. Paydon Henderson also played well, he brought the energy in the second half.”

Minerich scored his final goal in the 62nd minute off an assist from David Ruedy. David Espinoza and Max Craig assisted Minerich’s first goals.

The Beavers (3-1, 2-0 1A Evergreen) will take on Raymond-South Bend at Friday on the Black Top looking to keep their winning streak alive.
