Whether you’re looking for a new furry best friend, to get some grooming done for your four-legged companion, or to acquire tasty treats and toys for a pet, the upcoming Operation Adoption event at the Veterans Memorial Museum in Chehalis will be the place to be.

The museum announced the upcoming “Operation Adoption” event in a social media post.

Scheduled for Saturday, March 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., over 50 dogs and puppies will be available for visitors to meet at the Veterans Memorial Museum, located at 100 SW Veterans Way in Chehalis.

Additionally, Doggie Designs Pet Grooming will provide grooming services along with treats and toys for sale from local businesses Lunabones Barkery, Totally Pawsome and the Pacific NW Pet Center.

Two Brewnettes Espresso and Tap Trailer will be at the event selling coffee.

Dog nail trimming will also be available at $12 for small dogs and $20 for large dogs, with all proceeds going toward Red Rose Animal Rescue of Rochester — which, along with their volunteer fosters, will be bringing the dogs and puppies available for adoption.

This is the second Operation Adoption event held at the museum. It is the brainchild of Kristi Popenoe, a peer counselor at Veterans Journey Forward, a nonprofit focused on helping veterans with counseling and navigating benefits that also operates out of the Veterans Memorial Museum.

The first Operation Adoption event was held in December. Popenoe hopes to continue holding the event quarterly.
