Mossyrock Girls, Toledo Boys Win Six-Team

Mossyrock’s girls squad won a six-team 1B/2B track meet at home on Thursday, scoring 122 points to outpace runner-up North Beach (94). Toledo came in first on the boys side with 130 points.

Caelyn Marshall won the shot put (28 feet, 10 inches) and javelin (93-06) to pace the Viking girls and ran a leg of the winning 4x200 relay with Teaguen Weise, Renzy Marshall and Paige Houghtelling. Mossyrock’s 4x400 relay also came out on top, with junior Olyvia Brownell joining eighth-graders Renzy Marshall, Joan Wedam and Leah Contreras.

MWP’s Jordan Koetje won the 100 meters (13.10 seconds) and the 300 hurdles (51.31), and ran in the winning 4x100 relay squad with Amy Martinez, Chloe Kelly and Katelyn Gilstrap. 

Pe Ell’s Charlie Carper won the long jump (15-08), the 200 (28.39) and the 100 hurdles (19.92) and took second in the 100.

Toledo got wins from Paige Hill (800, 2:53), Karley Harris (1600, 6:31), and Jenna Oberndorf (discus, 74-09.5).



On the boys side, Toledo’s Jordan Mckenzie won the 400 (55.91) and ran a leg of the winning 4x100 team with Conner and Carson Olmstead and Tyler Harris (3:42). Treyton Marty won the 3200 (10:56) and took second in the 1600, Joshhill Tilton won the shot put (39-01) and discus (122-01.5), and Wyatt Nef took the javelin (147-01.5).

Pe Ell sophomore Carter Phelps swept the hurdles, winning the 110 in 17.18 and the 300 in 44.04. Mossyrock’s Austin Barnes won the 100 (11.98), took second in the 200 and teamed up with Ben Cruz, Tevita Stajduhar and Kainen Zavodsky to win the 4x100 (46.95). 

MWP freshman Hunter Brackett won the 1600 in 5:00 and took second in the 3200.

Mossyrock runs in Kalama’s Twilight Invitational next Friday. MWP and Pe Ell both run in the Chehalis Activators meet next Friday and Saturday.
