Mossyrock Takes Down W.F. West in Dominating Sweep

Posted

As usual, the Mossyrock volleyball team stacked its non-league slate with a good amount of punching up the classification ladder, and things culminated Thursday, when the Vikings welcomed W.F. West out east and sent the Bearcats back to Chehalis with a 25-14, 25-8, 25-20 sweep.

“(We) didn’t come out with the fire they normally do and it showed,” W.F. West coach Robert Lucas said.

Morgan Rogerson had six kills for the Bearcats, while Julia Dalan had four. Savannah Hawkins, Saige Brindle, and Ava Brenner all had perfect serving outings for the visitors.

No stats were reported for Mossyrock.

W.F. West currently sits at 1-3, with all three losses coming to teams that made it to Yakima for their respective state tournaments.

“We believe to that in order to be one of the better teams, you need to play some of the best teams and we’ve played four tough teams,” Lucas said. “We’ll go back and work hard to prepare for league.”

The Bearcats will open league play with another tough matchup in the form of a road game at Tumwater on Tuesday. Mossyrock, still perfect on the year, will drop down to 1B play Monday, taking on Three Rivers Christian.
