An Aberdeen man was injured in an alleged drunk-driving related crash in Montesano on Tuesday afternoon and was transported for further medical care.

The crash occurred just after 5:30 p.m., according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

Cory L. Sado, 55, was traveling eastbound on the on-ramp to Highway 12 from Main Street when he lost control of the motorcycle on loose gravel. The vehicle struck the guardrail and Sado was ejected from the bike. The Montesano Fire Department and WSP responded to the crash, said Montesano Fire Chief David Busz.

Sado was transported to Harbor Regional Health by paramedics from Montesano Fire Department providing advanced lifesaving care, Busz said in a phone interview.

Motorcycle riders should always wear helmets, which Sado was, and be aware of cars when riding, Busz said. Drinking and driving is never a good idea, Busz said.
