Senior Ian Sprouffske scored a game-high 18 points and Rainier easily handled visiting Kalama for a convincing 60-35 victory on Tuesday.
Seven Mountaineers in total scored, with Jake Meldrum adding 11 points, Josh Meldrum chipping in nine and Logan Bowers finishing with eight.
“We really moved the ball well and played great perimeter defense,” Rainier coach Ben Sheaffer said. “It is really great to see we are sharing the basketball this early in the season. We have some work to do, but we are doing some cool things that we can build upon.”
Rainier edged Kalama in the rebound margin 45-44, and forced the Chinooks into 11 turnovers. The Mountaineers connected on 5 of 14 foul shots.
Rainier heads to Winlock on Thursday.
