Dropping a decisive first set before rallying back to more competitive second and third sets, the Rainier volleyball team fell in a sweep to Kalama on the road south Thursday, 25-7, 25-19, 25-18.

“Even though we lost, we played amazing and continue to grow as a team,” Mountaineers coach Carrie Ooms said.

Olivia Earsley had a team-high 32 digs, Acacia Murphy finished with 8 kills, and Lilly Johnson served up 8 aces in a losing effort.

The Mountaineers take on Morton-White Pass in Rainier for their next contest.
