The Rainier baseball team scored three runs in the first and three more in the fourth Friday, taking down Morton-White Pass 7-2 in a C2BL matchup.

Jake Meldrum and Johnny Boesch combined to go 5 for 6 at the top of the Rainier lineup, and Johnny Boesch took advantage, driving in three runs. Hunter Howell earned the win for the Mountaineers, tossing two scoreless innings. Gavin Owen and Conner Mounts combined to take Rainier the rest of the way.

Brecken Pelletier threw all six innings for MWP. Race McKenzie and Kris Elliott both had two-hit games for the T-Wolves, who scored their two runs in the top of the fourth. That cut the gap to 4-2, but Rainier responded with a three-spot to make things more comfortable.

Rainier is set to face Toutle Lake in a doubleheader Monday, while MWP will play two at Kalama.
