MWP Sweeps White Swan in Doubleheader

Led by a strong day at the plate, the Morton-White Pass softball team defeated White Swan on Saturday in a doubleheader, 16-6 and then 15-3, in five innings each. 

The Timberwolves got off to a hot start in the first game, but after a 3-run inning in the third tied the game at 4-4, MWP took off for 12 runs over the fourth and fifth innings to walk away with the run-rule, 16-6 win. 

Bria Elkins went 2 for 3 with a run scored and four RBIs to lead the way at the dish, while Emarey Hampton threw all five innings with just one earned run and 12 strikeouts. 



In the second game, the Timberwolves scored 12 runs in the opening inning to run away with another, 15-3 win. 

Natalia Armstrong pitched all five innings and had 10 strikeouts, and Elkins again had a strong day, going 3 for 4 with two runs scored and four RBIs. Kelly Pakar added a 2 for 4 line with three RBIs, as well.
