A stellar day in the circle from Hannah Fay and a grand slam from Taylen Evander was more than enough for the Napavine softball team, which defeated Toutle Lake 9-0 on Saturday.
Fay threw a complete game shutout, allowing just four hits, walking one, and striking out 10, and she also collected two hits, including a two-run triple.
Evander’s slam came in the sixth, and it doubled Napavine’s lead from four to eight. Clara Fay finished 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, and Paytin Wheeler went 3 for 4 at the plate and scored a run.
The Tigers (3-1-1, 1-1 C2BL) will be back at home on Monday to host Winlock in a non-league matchup.
