Napavine tops Highland for third consecutive win

A second-half goal from Hayden Kaut was enough for the Napavine girls soccer team on Tuesday, as the Tigers topped Highland 1-0.

“The girls played well,” Napavine coach John Bates said. “It was a good, hard fought win. They are coming together slowly and are figuring things out on the field. They are playing the way I want them to and making a lot of adjustments.”

Kaut’s goal came off an assist from Hannah Fay, and Taylen Evander posted a shutout in net. It’s Napavine’s third shutout win in a row, as the Tigers also topped Okanogan and Raymond-South Bend early last week.

The Tigers (2-2) will face RSB again next Wednesday, Oct. 2, in Napavine.
