A season full of ups and downs for the Oakville Acorns softball team came to a close Tuesday when they lost to Taholah 19-4 in five innings in the 1B District 4 pigtail.

The Chitwhins, with only six hits, scored in every inning off of five Oakville errors, 12 walks and four wild pitches. They tallied five runs in the first, eight in the second, and another five in the fourth.

Oakville’s best opportunity in the second inning when it loaded the bases with walks, and the Acorns could only muster one run on an error. The Acorns finish the season with a 3-12 record in a campaign that saw their first win since 2017 when they beat Wishkah Valley on April 30, as well as the welcoming of their new field.
