An Oakville woman was injured and a Lakewood man was issued a criminal citation after a vehicle towing a trailer that was too heavy for the vehicle’s capacity lost control and rolled in Kitsap County on Saturday.
The accident reportedly occurred at the intersection of state Route 16 and Burley Ollala Road in Kitsap County just after 7:40 p.m. on May 6. The vehicle came to rest on its side, blocking both eastbound lanes of state Route 16, while the vehicle’s occupants fled the scene on foot.
Washington State Patrol Aviation located the two occupants: driver Juan C. Mendoza Loeza, 37, of Lakewood and a 29-year-old Oakville woman, who was transported to St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor for medical treatment.
Mendoza Loeza was issued citations for third-degree driving with a suspended license and improper towing.
