OlyFed’s expansion into Lewis County is now complete with the opening of its newest branch in historic downtown Chehalis at 535 N. Market Blvd.
It marks the bank’s ninth branch in its 119-year history, and it is a full-service financial center packed into 600 square feet, according to a news release from OlyFed.
Equipped with the latest banking technology for efficient and effective customer care and support, the branch includes an ATM with 24/7 accessibility, according to the news release.
To celebrate its grand opening, the bank is providing customers and community members with special offers, giveaways, discount coupons to local businesses and treats.
Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the celebration will run until Friday, Oct. 3, and the public is invited to come and meet the OlyFed team.
“This is a big deal for OlyFed as it’s been 10 years since we opened our last branch,” Josh Deck, president and CEO, stated in the release. “We were very deliberate in choosing Lewis County, which is a community focused on delivering a high quality of life and where neighbors take care of neighbors, which is why we have already invested in more than a dozen local nonprofit organizations.”
OlyFed’s mutual banking structure is focused on taking care of its customers and community and is accountable to its depositors and borrowers, not shareholders, the release stated.
In the last five years, the bank has invested more than $2 million in local charitable endeavors, and last year alone its employees volunteered more than 1,500 hours in the community.
Furthermore, the bank has originated close to $16 million in affordable home loans designed to help households with incomes at or below 80% of median income in the last two years, the news release stated.
“We are very excited to bring our Affordable Home Loan program to Lewis County and help more community members realize the social, health and economic benefits of homeownership,” Deck said. “We know when you have a house of your own, transformational life outcomes become possible.”
Long recognized for its financial strength, for 148 straight quarters (37 years) OlyFed has received a five-star superior rating from Bauer Financial, an independent rating agency. Only 1% of the nation’s banks have earned Bauer’s top rating for so long and with such consistency, the release stated.
