The Onalaska girls basketball team won its fifth game in a row on Tuesday, when the Loggers took down Toledo 49-29.
The Loggers allowed just 11 points in the first half, building a 19-point lead in the process. The second half was more even, but the Riverhawks couldn’t close the gap to get within striking distance.
“I was really happy with our defensive intensity tonight,” Onalaska coach Alana Olson said. “We came out and had good communication and rotation. We did a better job being consistent on the offensive end as well.”
Emalie Jacoby led the Loggers with 16 points, while Renzy Marshall posted a double-double with 16 rebounds and 11 points. Delaney Marshall scored eight points and grabbed four steals, while Kaiyah Sandridge scored five points while tallying 10 rebounds and eight steals.
Ryah Stanley led the Riverhawks with 11 points, while Ellie Fallon scored eight. Kailea Lairson-Young scored four, and Peyton Holter and Hope Gould added three each.
Both teams hit the road Thursday, when Toledo (2-3) heads to Winlock and Onalaska (5-0) travels to Toutle Lake.
