Onalaska’s offense leads the way over Morton-White Pass

Friday night was a big one for the Onalaska boys basketball team, which defeated Morton-White Pass 79-48 for its third consecutive win.

Ten different Loggers got on the board in the win, something Onalaska coach Fred Sturza said was the result of selfless team basketball.

“We were looking to outlet and push up the floor,” Sturza said. “We saw lanes to get downhill, played aggressive, got to the rim, and good things happened off it. … Just a great buy-in from all of our guys. It was great to see.”

Four Loggers finished in double-figures, including Case McGraw, who finished with a team-high 15 points. Maddox McKinley scored 13, Blaze Underhill added 12, and Nick Rushton tallied 10.

Brodey Triana and Justin Jacoby weren’t far behind with nine and eight, respectively.

On the Morton-White Pass side, Judah Kelly was still able to have success offensively, scoring 30 points, but no other Timberwolf finished with more than eight.

“If it wasn’t a turnover, we were forcing bad shots and we were winning on the defensive side,” Sturza said. “We made everything difficult for them.”

Onalaska (3-4, 3-4 C2BL) will look to get back to .500 on Saturday, when it heads to Black Hills for a non-league matchup, while MWP (3-4, 2-4 C2BL) will host Kalama in Morton on Monday.
