Ony has tough night at home

The Onalaska volleyball team stumbled out of the gate and never recovered to get up to speed Tuesday, falling 25-14, 25-5, 25-17 to Toutle Lake in a Central 2B League matchup.

“We did not show up tonight as a team ready to play,” Onalaska coach Susan Gordon said. “We had some individuals show up, but in a team sport when everyone has to do their job and perform, 1-2 people just isn’t enough.”

Emalie Jacoby had seven kills and 18 digs to lead the Loggers (5-4, 1-1 C2BL), but the Ducks hammered Onalaska from the first serve and only sped up in a 20-point blowout of a second set.

“Toutle Lake didn’t really take us out of our game; we never showed up to play,” Gordon said.

Onalaska will try to get back on track Thursday, back at home against Winlock. The Loggers swept the Cardinals in a non-league match earlier in the season.
