A 24-year-old Albany woman faces rape and other charges after she left town with a 13-year-old boy earlier this month, according to court documents.
The boy’s mother reported him missing on April 5, saying she believed he had left a friend’s house in Albany with the woman, Alyssa Kathleen Thomas. The next day, police said they received information that Thomas and the boy were in Portland, “attempting to get transportation out of state.”
On Monday, a tip sent officers to Lloyd Center Mall, where they found the woman and the boy in the food court.
Thomas is being held at Linn County Jail, police said. The boy has been returned home.
