Travelers on northbound Interstate 5 near the Koontz Road overpass in Lewis County should plan ahead for nighttime delays on Thursday, Feb. 8.

Washington State Department of Transportation’s contractor, Selby Bridge Company, Inc., will close a single lane of northbound I-5 to install signage and remove barriers near the Koontz Road overpass, just south of Napavine, according to a news release.

From 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, to 6 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, a single lane of northbound I-5 between mileposts 69 and 70 will close overnight for sign installation and barrier removal work.

“Closing a single lane of the highway is necessary to ensure the safety of travelers and road crews,” the state Department of Transportation said in a news release. “As with any highway maintenance and construction project, travelers must exercise caution through the work zone. To keep both road users and road workers safe, travelers are asked to have patience and obey advanced warning signs.”
