Packwood Mountain Festival Fun Run Draws People of All Ages

The Packwood Mountain Festival 5K and 10K Fun Run/Walk was held on Saturday morning beginning at the Packwood Timberland Library. 

The race was sponsored by the White Pass Country Historical Society, Harbor Health Packwood Clinic, Lewis County lodging tax funds and the library.

All registered race participants received a T-shirt, a participant’s medal and a water bottle donated by Arbor Health. The first, second and third place winners in each age bracket received medals for their placements. 

After the main race, kids were invited to join a 1K run/walk. All participants in the children’s race received medals donated by Arbor Health. 

In the women’s 5K, Finnley Merritt came in first place for the 12-15 age group followed by Amery Merritt in second. In the 20-29 age group, Alyssa Sebren and Chelsea Croshaw tied for first place. 



Shannon Javaras took first in the 40-49 age group with Kim Pawlawski in second. Tracy Crowshaw took first in the 50-59 age bracket. In the 60+ age group, Teresa Fenn took first place while Diane Markham and Jane Palmer tied for second. 

In the men’s 5K, Kohen Taylor and Keenan Merritt took first and second place, respectively, in the 12-15 age group. For the 40-49 age group, Keith Denton took first place, Casey Taylor took second place and Ben Stubbs took third place. 

In the 50-59 age group, David Fleckenstein came in first place while Alex Javaras came in second place. Dean Croshaw came in first place for the 60+ age group while Michael Lanning came in second place.

In the women’s 10K, Isamar Escobar took first place for the 30-39 age group, Stefanie Brooks took first place in the 40-49 age group and Laurie Fleckenstein took first place in the 50-59 age group. Rhonda Volk came in second place for the 50-59 age group.

In the men’s 10K, Oliver Basinet came in first for the 30-39 age group while Bob Voster came in first place for the 40-49 age group.
