The Pe Ell volleyball team went to Matlock on Thursday and came back home with a five-set win, 25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 21-25, 15-13.
Sophomore Madi Engel led the Trojans with 11 kills, while Brooklynn King — the only upperclassman on the Pe Ell roster — made things go with her passing.
“Whenever she touches the ball, whether it’s coming as a pass for her to set, when she serving or receiving, she’s playing it smart and I have confidence that she going to put it where it needs to go and we will score,” PL coach Eddi Peterson said. “She’s taking on a lot of responsibilities and she is so patient with the younger girls.”
Pe Ell will host Winlock next Monday.
