There was little doubt for the Pe Ell girls basketball team on Tuesday, which improved to 3-0 with a 70-14 win over Three Rivers Christian.
“My biggest fear coming into tonight’s game was that we might lack the usual energy and excitement since there is no room for fans in their gym,” Pe Ell coach Kelsey Lennox said. “The girls responded by bringing the energy themselves and they kept it up all game.”
Karli Phelps and Peyton Zock scored 22 points each to lead the Trojans, while Zock hauled in 13 rebounds and Phelps dished out six assists.
Brookelynn King had an excellent all-around performance, scoring 11 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and adding four assists and four steals.
Emma Kissner finished with 11 points, while McKayla Jensen and Morgan Markee added two points each.
As a team, the Trojans tallied 22 assists.
“They really played unselfishly as a team tonight,” Lennox said.
Pe Ell (3-0, 1-0 1B CVL) will look to stay unbeaten when it heads to Winlock for a non-league contest on Thursday.
