The Pe Ell girls basketball team improved to 4-0 on Thursday, as the Trojans defeated Winlock 65-24.
The Cardinals came out in a full court press, but the Trojans executed well against it early on to build a big lead.
“We were smart with our shot selection and unselfish with the ball,” Pe Ell coach Kelsey Lennox said. “I just love the chemistry I’ve seen develop with this team, and I only believe it will get stronger.”
Peyton Zock scored 18 of her 22 points in the first quarter, and she also went on to finish with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Karli Phelps was all over the place, scoring 15 points while also tallying eight assists, eight rebounds, three steals, and a pair of blocks.
Brookelynn King scored six points, had eight assists and eight rebounds of her own, and nabbed two steals and blocked a shot defensively.
Madi Engel added five points and four assists, while Ruby Magruber finished with seven rebounds and two points and Ava King scored five.
Pe Ell will look to remain undefeated on Saturday, when it hosts Willapa Valley, while Winlock (1-4) will host Mossyrock on Tuesday.
