The Pe Ell Trojans are 2-0 to start the new year, as the Trojans defeated Northwest Christian (Lacey) 58-53 on the road on Wednesday.
Pe Ell came out of the gates slow, trailing 6-0 midway through the first, but the Trojans scored the final 13 points of the quarter to take the lead.
The Trojans’ lead was up to 11 by halftime, but NWC battled back to get within five heading into the fourth.
Pe Ell held on for the win by scoring 22 in the fourth, including a 7 for 11 mark at the line.
Blake Nelson led the Trojans with 15 points, while Kohl Perkins added 10 and grabbed eight rebounds.
Jacob Hayes and Eli Mason scored nine each, while Mauricio Morales added eight and Calan McCarty scored seven.
The Trojans will be back at home on Friday to host Ocosta.
