Pedestrian struck after entering traffic on Interstate 5 in Chehalis

A 34-year-old man from Marietta, Georgia, was injured after stepping into traffic on Interstate 5 in Chehalis on Wednesday, according to the Washington State Patrol. 

Micah J. Owen was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital after entering the southbound lanes from the shoulder at about 9:47 p.m., according to the state patrol. 



He reportedly struck the side of a semi-truck driven by a 46-year-old man from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. The driver of that vehicle was not injured. 

The state patrol listed the cause of the crash as a pedestrian in the roadway and determined that drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the incident.
