The Gail and Carolyn Shaw Aquatics Center, pictured from above here, opened for the summer season this week. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. daily. Admission is $5 per person per session, or free under a Shaw Aquatics Center Season Pass, which is available to Chehalis School District residents for $40. Swimmers who qualify for a senior citizen or military discount can have their admittance fee discounted by $1 upon request. Open swim patrons are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis after season pass holders have been admitted. Adult lap swim, which begins July 12, will be offered from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Children 12 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult and under direct supervision at all times. All toddlers who aren’t toilet trained must wear tight-legged training pants or swim diapers under a swimsuit.
