The Adna girls soccer team dropped its season-opener, 4-0 on the road at 1A Elma on Tuesday.

“Elma is a very good, veteran team and a good test for us,” Adna coach Patrick Richardson said. “We are in a bit of a rebuilding phase but we are playing together well. (It’s) definitely something to build on.”

Elma struck for two goals in the first half, and added two more in the second, outshooting the Pirates 14-5.

The Pirates (0-1) will get another 1A foe up next when they host Eatonville on Thursday.
