Pirates Fall to Ducks, Take Fourth at Districts

After splitting its regular-season matchups with Toutle Lake, Adna wasn’t able to overcome the Ducks in the 2B District 4 third/fourth-place match Saturday at home, falling in five sets (21-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 15-9).

Adna swept Wahkiakum in the previous round earlier Saturday to advance to the third/fourth-place match.

Three Pirates registered double-digit kills on the day, led by freshman Kendall Humphrey’s 20 kills to go with three aces. Alyssa Davis added 15 kills, Maddie Fay tallied 14 and Miriam Wilson contributed seven.

Brooklyn Loose finished with a team-high four aces and was praised by coach Wendie Dotson for her all-around performance at the net and the service line. Natalie Humphrey was also commended for her passing.

Adna (12-5 overall) now awaits the WIAA to release its state seeding at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
