Pirates Get Revenge on Shorthanded Cardinals

Adna took advantage of an undermanned Winlock squad and delivered a 50-26 loss to the visiting Cardinals in Central 2B League action on Tuesday.

With Winlock star Addison Hall sidelined, the Pirates overcame a slow start by using big second and fourth quarters to outdistance the Cardinals for the victory.

“They didn’t have Hall, so that changed how we defended them,” Adna coach Chris Bannish said. “The game was lethargic for both teams.”

Adna’s Brooklyn Loose continued her dominant offensive run with a game-high 17 points, while Faith Wellander added 14 on 8 of 9 shooting from the field and Karlee Von Moos chipped in nine points and a team-high nine rebounds.

Winlock was led by junior Charlie Carper’s 11 points, while Madison Vigre added six, Kindyl Kelly contributed five and Angela Gil-Munoz finished with four.

Winlock (7-7, 2-4 C2BL) hosts Willapa Valley on Friday at Pe Ell High School.

Adna (9-6, 3-2 C2BL) heads to Toledo on Thursday.
