Make it five in a row for the Adna Pirates, who defeated Onalaska 60-51 on the road on Wednesday night.
The Pirates and Loggers played a tightly contested game all the way through before late free throws helped Adna ice the game late.
Jackson Knittle had a big night in the paint, scoring 23 points, including 14 in the second half, and Trevin Salme hit two threes early en route to a 17-point night. Grayson Humphrey added 11 points, and Gavan Muller logged eight.
Blaze Underhill led the Loggers with 16 points, while Case McGraw and Justin Jacoby both added 10. Nick Rushton just missed double-figures with nine.
Jacoby also grabbed six rebounds and nabbed five steals, while Underhill had four steals and a pair of assists.
Despite the loss, Onalaska coach Fred Struza said there were plenty of positives to take away, outside of the late turnovers that led to the need to foul in the final moments.
“You just can’t make those mistakes against Adna,” Sturza said. “But that’s the best I've seen our seniors play … We're not satisfied with a loss, but there’s been so much growth in the last couple of days.”
Both teams have back-to-back games Friday and Saturday, as Adna (5-1, 5-0 C2BL) will head east to face Brewster and Okanogan at Brewster High School while Onalaksa (0-4, 0-4 C2BL) will host Mossyrock and Rainier.
