Ignited by three in the top-five and the scoring five in the top-11, the Adna High School boys cross country team finished with 31 points to clip Rainier by 16 to secure the C2BL meet on Thursday night at Mossyrock.

Four of the five runners that scored for the Pirates are underclassmen. Sophomore Trevin Willis and junior Bailey Davis were separated by 12 seconds to finish second and third, respectively. Rainier’s Zach Hamilton dominated the team race.

James Meldrum and Ean Viik crossed the finish line in seventh and eighth place, separated by less than .50 seconds. Winlock’s Xavier Sanhco-Carrillo and Jacob Trodahl both ran sub-19:45 to place inside the top-10.

On the girls side, the only team that had enough for a team score was Rainier, who went 1-2-3-4-5-6 to secure the perfect total of 15 points.

Mountaineers senior Madison Ingram won her second straight meet in 19:36.22 while freshman Komaire Robles clocked in at 20:33.92. Junior Jazzlyn Shumate was the other runner that ran under 21 minutes.

Mossyrock’s Joan Wedam (7th), Adna’s Megan Price (8th) and Winlock’s Kyndra Forler placed seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively.
